Zig Zag String Quartet

The Zig Zag String Quartet is violinists Jenny Estrin and Hannah Leland, violist Rebekah Hanson, and cellist Sonja Myklebust. Ambitious teachers and performers, members of Zig Zag are on faculty at George Fox University in Newberg, OR and have contracts with the Portland Opera and Eugene Symphony.  Zig Zag's first concert will feature String Quartet no. 2 by Sergei Prokofiev and String Quartet no. 2 by Alexander Borodin (including the famous Nocturne movement). Seating is limited to 30, so advance reservations are encouraged. Michal Palzewicz

Michal Palzewicz has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe, both as a soloist and ensemble player. He has performed to great acclaim at prestigious venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in NYC and Wigmore Hall in England.  Michal was the founding member of the Elsner String Quartet, which earned him the Saunderson Award at the 52nd Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition and was the winner of the Young Concert Artists Auditions in Leipzig.  Michal attended Warsaw Conservatory of Music in Poland and then The Manhattan School of Music where his quartet received full scholarships as well as artist-in-residence status. His teachers and mentors include the members of the Amadeus String Quartet, David Soyer, Michael Tree, Hugh Maguire, Robert Mann, Pinchas Zuckerman, and Isidore Cohen.

Samantha Kushnick

Based in Portland, Samantha is a cellist, singer and songwriter in the folk tradition. She often performs original works as part of a string trio featuring violin and two cellos. Blending folk and country songs with elements of classical chamber music, they call their unique style "chamber folk". Samantha studied cello performance at the Oberlin Conservatory and has performed regularly with a number of groups in the Portland area including the Portland Cello Project, The Helio Sequence, Typhoon and the Vancouver Symphony.  http://samanthakushnick.com

Delgani String Quartet

  Praised as a “welcome addition to Oregon music” and “one of Eugene’s coolest new ensembles,” by Eugene Weekly, Delgani String Quartet has quickly become one of the most active chamber music ensembles in the Pacific Northwest with over 60 performances and educational programs each year. Programming for their 2016/2017 season, entitled “Astonished By Music,” includes repertoire by some of the most celebrated classical composers, seldom-heard works for marimba and quartet, and world premieres of three new compositions. In addition to season performances in both Eugene and Salem, Delgani has been invited to perform selections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City this spring. http://www.delgani.org
